what i played last week (#41-25): baby steps, giant falls
i've thought of starting logging a bit more what i play each week so it doesn't feel i never play anything. i already journal my play sessions on backloggd, but it might help my mind state as well!
first timers
baby steps (2025): oh my god this game is weird af, and i love it so much. the newest drop from the creator of qwop and getting over it, and it shows a lot. it tells the story of nate, a 35 years old loser that wastes his life on his parents' basement who gets teleported to a cave and has to find his way up to a castle through rough terrain elevations. the plot twist is that you manually control his walking with both triggers to lift each leg and the joystick to position them, making it both hilarious and terribly frustrating.
dx legends (tba): this is a fren's game, in which we took part of its first ever online playtest to find bugs and test the overall feel playing on a server located in another country. it's a pvp multiplayer heavily based on gameboy zelda (link's awakening, oracles) with different modes like team deathmatch or capture the
flagprincess. he definitely left with a good bunch of bugs to fix and improvements to do! you can follow the development on his bluesky account
ongoing
- super mario rpg (2025): i first emulated this when it released and i love the game (both og and remake), so it was pending to get it for my collection. got a second-hand and it's perfect to chill on the couch while waiting for pokemon legends to release. last session i got the 4th star (out of 7), so i'm heading underwater to beat the shark boss if i remember correctly.
usual suspects
rocket league (2025): my most played game by far, currently going for a 365 day streak on my journal (256/365).
picross s doraemon & f characters (2025): my current bedtime picross, the best thing to mash my brain until i fall asleep. finished regular and clip picross mods, gonna try color picross next.
